1. Have a Backup Plan — But Don’t Panic
If your ceremony is outdoors, make sure your venue has a rain plan that you actually like.
A covered patio, tent rental, or nearby indoor option can save the day without killing the vibe.

2. Talk to Your Photographer (and Planner) Ahead of Time

If you’ve got a planner or day-of coordinator, loop them in early so there’s clear communication about changes. You don’t want to be the one deciding between umbrellas or plan B seating while you’re getting ready.

Invest in a few clear umbrellas. They photograph beautifully, don’t cast weird shadows, and let you still have outdoor portraits with protection. Bonus: they often look more romantic in photos than clear skies ever could.

6. Have Towels, Extra Shoes, and a Sense of Humor

Pack backup shoes if you’re walking through grass or puddles. Bring a towel or garbage bags for any unexpected soaks. Most of all — try to laugh through it. The more relaxed you are, the more natural your photos will feel, rain or shine.
